Asemic Calligraphy

An ongoing exploration of form in digital calligraphy, divorced from semantic content.

The separation of meaning and form allows for freer exploration of the relationship between the stylus (physical tool) and the possibilities of software applications (virtual transformations).

 

Asemic Calligraphy:

 

An open ended series of digital calligraphy compositions that omit semantic content. The removal of meaningful words and familiar characters allows for a free exploration of the digital stylus/virtual brush as a writing tool.

 
 

Formal connotations are more readily recognized without language.
